Re: Writing in CTC
We are in a similar situation except for us the history matches up perfect. Our coop uses IEW and my 7th grader is in that class on Thurdays and they are doing Ancient History based writings. I have her omit the poetry and language art boxes and it is still working out great.

Re: History questions
I didn't understand who fought in the civil war until I read Gone with the Wind senior year in highschool (my choice, not assigned) and I was an A student. Somehow I managed to pass those multiple choice tests.

So are the hands on activities the same as in the singapore textbooks or are they written by Carrie? I may be able to borrow the Singapore textbooks. Otherwise I will try to stretch the budget to get the next guide

We used many curriculums in our journey but this coming school year my 12 year old will be doing CTC and my 7 and 9 year old will be...

Re: confused bigger/beyond decision
Wow, so many replies so quickly. I can't thank you all enough. I think I will go with Beyond for both but add some of the bigger right side stuff. The lighter history and science is a good idea so we can concentrate on basics and getting a schooling routine going. I am so excited! Thank you again!!!

I am completely set with my 12 year old in CTC (very independent/bright and will take the guide and run with it) but don't know what to do with my 7 & 9 year olds. I need to keep them together for science and history. Both are alittle behind for their yea...

I'm going to think on the workboxes. I wonder if that would help with the chaos around here. What do you use for the actual boxes?

Check in to Five in a Row. You can pick and choose from their manuals what both your children would be able to participate in.

4 Day Schedule for Beyond
Hi all, I will starting Beyond shortly. The 2 of my children who will be doing the program are 7 and 9. I realize my 9 year old is a little old for the program but because of family events the past few years she has not had much formal schooling though she reads at grade level. My 7 year old son is ...
