Re: Maybe this is silly but I am going to ask anyway...
I printed them out on mail labels and stuck the stickers onto index cards. I have the same issue with my writing, and I wanted DS to have a great example of what the letters should look like.

Dictation in Bigger/Preparing
Hi,
Just wondering if someone could clarify the dictation levels for me. Would the first level of dictation be found in both bigger and preparing or would I need to buy both guides in order to do preparing with level 1 dictation?
Thanks!

Re: Toddler Activities?
I would encourage you to really research weather or not you think your little guy would like the preschool activity bags. I bought it and made them for my 3 year old. He can only do a few on his own, most are activities that require my direction or help. I think they would be independent activities ...

Re: How I have missed The Reading Lesson!!!!
I have both Reading Made Easy and The Reading Lesson. I am going through The Reading Lesson with my son and Reading Made Easy with my daughter. The thing that I love about the Reading Lesson is how simple it is - read the page, no script to follow, no cards to make, no worm for the wall. The Reading...

So Cool
I just had to share - I was looking ahead at what we'll be studying in LHFHG this week, and tomorrow we'll be learning about St. Valentine! The art project is making a valentine. Could HOD make my life any easier!?!!

Re: Combining K and 1st
Sounds like you are in the exact situation I am in this year. I am doing LHFHG with my DS6 who's doing first grade and DD5 who's in K. They do the left hand side of the guide together, then DD uses the K options, and DS uses the 1st grade options for the right hand side. (We use math u see, each on ...

Re: Question about using Handwriting K with LHTH
Last year I did LHTH and the ARFH K book with my son. We did one page every second day in the order that they are in the handwriting book, it didn't seem to bother him that they weren't coordinating. I would do it the same way again.

Re: DD very young for her grade level, not interested in 'school
My DD is in the same situation (only one year behind). She's 4 and won't be 5 until January but is considered a kindergartener this year. I'll be watching to see what you decide to do! This year I am going to have her join in with her older brother in LHFHG (he's 6 and in first grade). That said, if...

WooHoo
My DS and DD finished our school year today! For their graduation I gave them each a book and a certificate. I got DS the Early Reader's Bible. Right away he wanted to read the story of Jonah. It was so sweet to hear him read the story to me. :D I am so thankful for HOD, how easy and fun it has made...

Re: LHFHG issues with Unit 32 and 33
In my book pgs 245-6 are titled "The boy and the Flag" and 31-33 are titled "A Big Bell." I have the older edition, with the beige cover.
Hope that helps!

Re: Canadians using HOD
Hi, We're in Alberta. :) I am using parts of Beyond for my 6 year old starting this August. I'm planning on adding in some of Donna Ward's curriculum and have bought the Scholastic Canadian Biographies series to read and the Scholastic Canadian Animals series to add in to Science. We will also be lo...

Re: RME, RL or OPGTTR?
We do use some blank paper to cover the parts of the pages that we aren't using, the pages are very busy. We also use the bob books with RME so that he gets the feeling that he's reading a book on his own rather than just the program. A friend here uses a program that has the kids with a small book ...

As a fellow Canadian, I can understand your customs woes! There seems to be no rhyme or reason when it comes to how long they hold your stuff. I will be praying for a quick arrival of your box.

Re: Copywork ideas to go along with Little Hearts
I don't have anything lovely to share, but have the exact same question! I'm planning on doing LHFHG with my older two next year and will need to choose something for DS to use for copy work. RIght now, I'm thinking that I'll have him copy out his memory verse for the week. I'd love to hear some oth...
