I have one in Preparing (10)one in Beyond (7)and one in Little Hearts (6) My older two are really enjoying their...

Awesome! Any tips on how you organized your day? I will be doing Preparing, Beyond and Litte Hearts and I am nervous it's going to take all day long! I also have a 7 month old foster baby!

Re: Is dictation enough for my struggling speller?
Thanks Ladies! We did do AAS and it was a disaster! How did you find out your son had a processing disorder? I think something like that may be going on because it seems like unless I break down the word by syllable, she sometimes doesn't hear certain sounds and even if I do that she doesn't always ...

Is dictation enough for my struggling speller?
My 10 year old daughter really struggles with spelling. I have used several curriculums with her and she still has such a hard time. I feel like nothing has worked with her. My question is about the dictation in PHFHG. Will this be a good option for a struggling speller? Will dictation improve her s...

DITHOR Question
Hi, I am preparing to start DITHOR with my 9 year old and I was wondering if I could use the level 3 Book Projects to take home book for the level 2/3 books? I don't have my DITHOR manual yet, so I am not sure if it refers directly to the level 2 Book Projects or if level 3 will do? Thanks!

Why and How Long?
Hi, I am just curious why you all chose HOD and how long you have been using the curriculum?

Preparing Question
Hi, I am just curious if most of you use Preparing for 3rd or 4th grade? My daughter has a summer birthday and could technically be in 4th grade as she just turned 9, but she is working at a 3rd grade level in most subjects.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: LHFHG social studies question
No, Community Helpers is not covered in HOD so if you wanted to add it in you could. If you look at the sample week for LHFHG it lists all the history topics that are covered.

Is my daughter ready for DITHOR?
My 8 year old will be starting Bigger in the fall and I am wondering if she is ready to start DITHOR? She has struggled with reading and is not ready for chapter books yet. She is very comfortable reading level 2 readers from the library on her own and level 3 with a little help. Chapter books are o...

Re: Review?
Thanks ladies, that makes a lot of sense. I am still a little hung up on the text book approach with review questions at the end of each unit. I think reviewing using the notebook pages is a great idea!

Review?
I am wondering how HOD does review of science and history concepts specifically in the Bigger guide. Is review built into the guide somewhere or do I have to remember to go back and review the things we learn?
