Re: Need encouragement about 10 yo in Beyond
You've gotten some wonderful advice...advice that has helped me, as well! ;) I have settled on Res to Ref this year for my 13 yr old dd..she also has dyslexia and has some comprehension trouble. (We haven't started yet and I don't know how she will do with reading the directions and understanding wh...

Re: Thankful we came back
Thanks for sharing this. I'm glad you feel that it's a good fit for your family. We are starting next week, (coming back to HOD after 4 years) and I'm thinking it will be half days for my daughter for at least the first couple of weeks, maybe longer. She just turned 13 and is also doing Res to Ref.....

Principles of Mathematics Accelerated?
Has anyone used Principles of Mathematics at the accelerated pace to finish book 1 in 1 semester? I'm considering it...of course we may need to slow down on certain lessons as needed, which is fine, and that's actually partly why I'd like to do as much as possible, accelerated. Thank you!

Re: Placement advice...Coming back to HOD 11 and 13 yr old
Thank you, Melissa! After much deliberation, I had come to the same conclusion about it not really making much of a time difference by combining. Plus, I think they will really like not having to share all of those books with each other! ;) When she gets to HS I will probably just keep going in orde...

Has anyone used CTC and RevtoRev together?
After getting some placement help, these are the guides that my kids would fit into best. I am very concerned about doing multiple projects and activities a day. On the other hand, it would be great for my kids to have their own books and guides. Maybe they would take more ownership of their learnin...

What reading level are books in Rev to Rev
Can anyone tell me what reading level the books are, from the Rev to Rev package? I'm wondering for both science and history. I did look some of the books up on a website where I can see the inside of the book and they look like they'd be fine. I'm still trying to find the best fit for my kids. (Ide...

Re: Placement advice...Coming back to HOD 11 and 13 yr old
Thank you, Jenny! That sounds like a great idea! Looking at it further, I'm actually thinking I might go with RestoRef for both of them...that way she can still do the first of the two high school guides.

Re: Placement advice...Coming back to HOD 11 and 13 yr old
Yes, and I went back to look again...I feel like my daughter (13) would fit well in either Resurrection to Reformation or Revival to Revolution...as far as ability goes. (with the exception of math...we will continue with our own math curriculum) My son (11) would be fine in either CTC or Resurrecti...

Placement advice...Coming back to HOD 11 and 13 yr old
I would love some help in finding the right place for my two children. The only absolute is that I need to combine both of my kids in whatever Guide we chose. :) My daughter just turned 13 and will be in 8th. She has dyslexia, but reads only slightly bellow grade level. Too much writing can be diffi...

Re: Daughter loving cursive!
That's great! Are you using Cheerful Cursive? We are a week in as well, using CC and loving it! DD wants to keep going, but I stop it after one page as suggested. Mine has had a hard time with manuscript as well...so it is refreshing to have this accomplishment! Celebrating with you!

Supply List?
We are doing Bigger Hearts and I was just wondering if there is a supply list that perhaps I missed? So far we've had what we need from day to day, but I just don't want to be surprised later on and not have something I need. Thanks!

Re: Bigger - In what order do YOU do the boxes?
Charlotte Mason suggested to challenge different parts of the brain by switching from (for example) math to reading history to some form of writing, etc...this both gives the brain a rest so they aren't getting worn out and keeps them challenged. We do the more difficult subjects early in the day (l...
