To anyone who's used DITHOR Level 2/3 and 4/5...

If you could share your experience with me I'd really appreciate it, as I am at a loss on which to order for my ds. He will be 9 in the fall, and the plan is to do CTC with DITHOR and the Level 4/5 Boy Interest Book Pack. And as far as the student book goes, I was planning on ordering the Level 4/5 ...

Re: Is Preparing too much?

Sorry ladies, one more thing I forgot to mention! The fact that we had an unexpected pregnancy this year slowed me down too. But we are so happy and feel so blessed, after being told we couldn't have any more! (God is good to us!) And this is all another perfect example of what I was saying with my ...

Re: Is Preparing too much?

Tiffany, This year I've been doing Preparing, along with going to CC. I can honestly say that I regret the decision to do both, well actually just the CC part since I love love love HOD. I had the same doubts as you, but felt like CC had some good things to offer, and since it was a chance for my on...

Re: Young reader with DITHOR

Angela, I had a similar experience. My son flew through phonics and the emerging readers set. But as I looked over DITHOR, while I found that I really loved the looks of it (and now love it altogether), at that time it seemed a little too advanced for my kiddo, especially considering all of the hand...

Re: Anyone doing Preparing?

We are doing Preparing and loving it, even though I did have to change my plan for the year. With my son, who I would also say is very smart for his age, we found Beyond too easy last year So I took a few weeks to read through the history and reading, then went on to Bigger and was able to finish th...

Re: Field trip to kick of CTC

I think that's so neat that you posted this, because we are going there on Friday. Yay! We're all so excited, the adults almost as much as the kids. I'm taking my son (PHFHG) my bro and sis-in-law are taking their kids, (BLHFHG), our parents are going, and we're also taking a cousin (CTC). We like t...

How many minutes for each subject?

Ok, quick question here. I saw this topic somewhere on here before, but I can't find it now. I would really like to see the thread where Carrie (or maybe it was Julie) wrote out approximately how many minutes should be devoted to each subject. I'm the kind of person that it really helps to ke...

Re: I need advice, ds does not like school

Hello all you wonderful homeschooling mamas out there! I just wanted to chime in with my two cents, for whatever that's worth! I must agree 100% with lmercon. lmercon, you are a wise woman! Sometimes I think they just want to push us, to see how far they can get! Perhaps that is the situation...

Re: bumping up Math for 6 yo

Mamaduke, I was in the same situation, so I thought I'd share what worked for us,maybe that will help you out. My son will be 8 in September, and math has been ridiculously easy for him (from my point of view anyway, math was always my worst subject lol) since he was a wee babe. I did not want to sk...

Little bit of everything

Hey everybody, I have several things that I need to say. (My husband loves it when I start off conversations that way, ha ha). 1 Can I just say that I love love love HOD? It is going so great with my ds. What a relief to know that I'm set for curriculum for the next several years, and don't ha...

Re: Some news and some questions

Congratulations! This is wonderful news, and I pray all will go well with you and your little one. I just have one bit of advice for you. WATER!!! As a diabetic who had gestational diabetes in my pregnancies too, I can honestly say that drinking at least 64 oz. of water a day has helped my A1C level...

Wondering how to fit it all in...

Hi everybody! I've been reading and enjoying all the posts on this forum for a long time, but this is my first time posting a message. Since I've seen such friendly and helpful advice on here, I thought I'd ask for some help with my situation. First I should start off by saying I love HOD! :D It has...
