Full books not being used

We are starting Preparing next week and I noticed Grandpa's Box and Life in the Great Ice Age are not used in their entirety. Is this correct? If so, does anyone know why?

Re: Recommendations for A Daily Planner

I use The Well Planned Day. I love it! I agree! After printing my own out from DonnaYoung and "winging it," this has everything I was looking for. It has everything in it for school, house, and Mom. It also has a two-page spread per month devoted to inspirational/helpful articles. Take a look at th...

LHFHG and PHFHG lined up?

I think I remember seeing somewhere the LHFHG and PHFHG can be lined up to be on roughly the same topic each week. Was I dreaming? I can't seem to find it using the Search function. Anyone? Thank you in advance!

Re: Altering the Teacher Manual physically

I took mine to FedEx/Kinkos and had the spine cut off, front/back pages laminated, and then spiral bound. I still have tabs sticking out (having to flip between the daily schedule and the dictation) and copying the poetry is awkward on my printer with the big TM. Next year, I plan on doing what mom2...

Re: Thinking ahead

Heather, I know! I just like to keep my eyes open for good deals on next year's curriculum throughout the year. Gina and Tammy, She is doing very well in BHFHG. She has not whined once! Big jump from last year :D. Maybe I will slow down PHFHG or CTC when we get there, if needed. Though, I really don...

Re: Thinking ahead

Oh, no. I don't mean skip any guides. Sorry if it came across that way! She is doing Bigger ... now. Next year, her third grade year, I plan on putting her in Preparing ... The year after, CTC. The thing I love about HOD is how the skills build each year. I am just worried that if I keep her on this...

Thinking ahead

I am a planner. This has been in the back of my head. (And I keep my eyes open for great deals on next years curriculum!) I started my 7.5 yo dd at the very beginning age recommendations for the guides. She is in 2nd grade starting BHFHG. My question is this: If she does well in this guide and has a...

Re: Science

Carrie, I'm new  Sorry for the incorrect placement of my question. :) Julie, I LOVE how the science and history tie together! BUT, we are finishing WinterPromise Animals and Their Worlds and have done 7 (yes 7) OSS over the past 9 months and [ *I* ]need a break for a bit from animals (we have ...

Science

I cannot do all of the science in Bigger. I will also be doing another science program that will be considered our "main" one. Which science books are MOST closely related to the history topics being studied? Which have the most hands-on activities? Thank you for your help!

Substitutions

Does anyone know if I can substitute the original versions of Boys and Girls of Colonial Days and Stories of the Pilgrams in place of the CLP versions?

Thank you in advance :D
