Re: Valentine's Day fun - Why do you "heart" Heart of Dakota?
There are so many reasons to "heart" HOD but my all time favorite is that my 11yr. old ds says that the Bible quit time box is his favorite part of our school day. What more could you ask for??

Re: Air Dry Clay--what am I doing wrong? (CTC)
Ladies, We have also had a hard time using the recipes for air dry clay. The last time it came up we just used some play dough we had on hand and did not keep the project. It worked very well. One bonus was since my ds becomes so attached to every HOD project we did not have to find somewhere to sto...

Re: Do you think HOD could work for this child? Or PS is better?
exodus007, Just wanted to say that I will keep you in my prayers. It is so hard to watch our children struggle and not know how to help them. I know you are trying so hard to understand what he needs and how you can best provide it. I wanted to suggest something for you to look into. My 10 yr. old d...

Sue,
Just prayed that the Lord would send you a night of peaceful, refreshing sleep Everything looks better when we are rested. I will be lifting you up in pray.

Re: OT:Prayer Request - Training our chldren
I am praying for your entire family. Please remember that God uses all situations for his good. He could be using your daughter to draw this young man's heart to Him. This could have been me and my husband 33 years ago. He was a believer but not very dedicated and definatly drawn to the ways of the ...

Re: Expressive Language Disorder and oral narration
Ladies, Thanks so much for your suggestions. I do think Matthew would love to act out his narrations and he really likes to draw so these are great ways to offer a varity of narration options. Maybe if we shake it up and don't do it the same way each time it will not be such a chore. He does well wi...

Expressive Language Disorder and oral narration
Good Morning Ladies, My name is Durea and although I actually joined this forum about three years ago and read several times a week I very rarely post. So by way of intro I'll give you a little back ground. I have three children but only have one still at home, a ds who is 10 years old. We have just...

Re: retelling stories
We seem to have the problem that Cheryl addressed earlier in this post. The problem with finding words. My ds, 10, has just been diagnosed with Expressive Language Disorder. This does help explain why he gets so uptight at the mere mention of oral narration. He really can not do it. I will say that ...

Re: My son has autism what do I do now?
Shelia, God bless you. I am praying for you as you try to sort all this out. My ds has OCD and like a PP said we suspect other learning disabilties as well. I know for myself finally having a diagnosis was at least helpful in that I knew what to study up on. What I really wanted to share with you is...

Re: Singapore's website (placement testing) and a question
Wow. Sorry to hear you had so much trouble with placement. I was planning on having my ds take the placemwnt test tommorrow. Has any one else had a problem getting a correct placement? I'll be waiting to hear about the multiplication thing too because that's what we are ready to start.

Re: Arlington TX Homeschool Fair-- Who went and met Carrie???
I was there on Friday. It was wonderful to meet Carrie and Julie. They were so sweet, patient and kind. I know there must be no words to discribe how tired they are. There was constant activity at their booth. I pray they made many new converts to HOD. I know God is going to bless them for their fai...

Christy, I had a thought about grading narrations. If I'm remembering right I think Carrie recomends not to grade them are make to many corrections after they children have given their narrations because it will give them the idea that there Is only one right way to do a narration. The purpose of a ...
