Re: Re-introduction
Thank you for the warm welcome, ladies! Water2wine - I think I will start LHFHG as written and only add to it if I see the need. I will definitely be getting some of the books from the booklist in the appendix! Btw, my dc came to us by adoption also! All 6 of them! (2 are grown and out on their own)...

Re-introduction
Hi! Just thought I would pop in and re-introduce myself. I've posted a couple times here and there but now I'm actually getting ready to USE HOD! I'll be using LHFHG with my 7yo ds and my 8yo dd. They both have issues that affect their learning. My son has ADHD and mild autism and my daughter has so...

I was curious about this myself. It looked like a good program.

Carrie, what an inspiration!!
I've just been reading your responses to Nicole and Rebecca about narration/dictation/creative writing and I am so inspired! If I hadn't already been convinced to use HOD, I certainly would be now  ! In fact, I couldn't decide to start with LHFHG or Beyond (my kiddos will be 6 and 7 next yr) bu...

Re: Just one question
Thank you so much ladies!! I'm convinced I want to use HOD, now it's just a matter of LHFHG or Beyond. Age wise my 2 oldest will fit in either (they will be 6 and 7 next year). I'll just wait and see how far we get this year as far as reading and math. Now I can hardly wait until next year!! Maybe I...

Re: Just one question
Any other thoughts? My only concern with HOD (and believe me, it's a minor concern) is the use of so many textbooks for history. I've never read any of the ones included, can anyone reassure me that they are more interesting than regular public shcool ( and some private school) textbooks? Tha...

Frog, Frog, Frog by Robert Welber
I - Inch by Inch - by Leo Leoni
Hope that helps a little!

Just one question
Ok. I know I said I would just be quiet ("a fly on the wall") but I would like some input. HOD looks to me, to be the best complete curriculum out there. But there is a lot of other "good stuff" also. There are 3 things that I've seen that I REALLY would like to get to use somehow and they are; Trut...

Re: Another Newbie
Thank you for your responses, ladies! I'm so glad to see other adoptive parents homeschooling out there. What better way to create strong family bonds than homeschooling!!
The "Wisdom of Solomon" book looks great! Thank you happy@home!!
Looking forward to learning and growing with you all!

Another Newbie
Hi Everyone! I'm very new here. I'm a mom of 6. Two have grown and flown the coop, 4 are still in the nest. Actually the 4 in the nest are new additions. We adopted 2 last yr and are in the process of adopting 2 more this yr (oldest 2 are also adopted). So, I was "mommy" , became "mom" (more like mo...
