Re: Have I Mentioned I'm In A Funk?

You may also want to get your vitamin levels checked. I also had WLS and I have had a lot of problems with anemia, low b-12 and low D. So please get those checked, once I got those in order I have been feeling much better! Good luck and congratulations on your weight loss.

Re: O/T Prayer Request

(((((HUGS)))) I understand. I deal with anxiety and it is horrible. I quote 2 Timothy 1:7 all the time and it helps me so much... "For the Lord did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, and of power and of sound mind." It helps.. Sometimes I must say it 100times over... I know God hear...

Re: O/T-Prayers please for my littlest guy

((((HUGS)))) for you and prayers for continued healing for Ezra. As a mom who has lost a child, I know all too well the worry and panic. My husband and children now know to be very careful me because I just cannot deal well with a scare. Fear became a reality for me, a totally different situation, b...

Re: O/T another prayer request...but not for myself this time

Saying a prayer. I had a friend who went through this just shortly after her daughter was born. She has a rough go of it, but is now cancer free and doing well. I am praying for Christine.. I just can't imagine how scary it must be to be waiting to find out if indeed that is what it is, or have the ...

Using ER's for older student?

I have started the Emerging readers set with both of my boys. They are both probably past that, at least the first few books. However, neither are super strong readers and my 11 year old is really bad at pausing at periods, commas etc. He will just read straight on through and I would have to keep s...

Re: Possibly Beefing up Bigger....

So excited to hear your update. I also have a 11 (will be 12 January 23) son who is considered 6th grade that I am going to be doing Bigger with also! So I am happy to hear that others with children this age will be using the same. I know for us right now, this is what we need. I also have a just tu...

How to help a poor reader?

I am unsure what to do with my older son. I am not really sure what level reading he is at. We have been reading through "The Whipping Boy" and quite a bit of it has been hard for him. We are going to be doing Bigger this year. I will combine him (he is 11) and my just turned 10 year old, who reads ...

Re: Please reassure me

Thank you Carrie. My older son does do very well with capitalization, punctuation and does have down alot of the more common words. He loves to create stories and when he does that I let him write them out first, then we go back through and correct his spelling and we usually type it up on the compu...

Re: Question about dictation in Bigger.

Thank you so much for your reply Julie. I guess I just need to be patient and not try to push them too fast.. I feel so stressed with their spelling, and hate for them to have to do any spelling at Church.. I feel horrible that it just hasn't clicked and also because I have tried to double up thinki...

Question about dictation in Bigger.

I am sorry for so many questions. We have had a few very tough years here and it seems as though life is finally going to settle down! Some issues to cause our delays have been dh being deployed to Afghanistan for 20 months. Mom and sister both being very needy of me... I so need to read (well finis...

Re: LHTH for Kindergarten year?

Thank you all so much for your input, it has given me a lot to think and pray about. I like the idea of combining, but in a way I am worried about that too, because I don't want to hold one back to let the other catch up or vise versa, make the other go too faster... So many things to think about! S...

LHTH for Kindergarten year?

I have already started my little girl on LHFHG this past week. However, after asking a question about combining her with my younger son, someone recommended using LHTH for both of them now, but adding in math and phonics for her. This sounds like a good idea, but she has really enjoyed what she has ...
