Oh man! I used the wrong words--meant Bigger vs. Preparing.
We fall in Bigger in the skill set guide. I was selecting between those two.

Bigger vs. Preparing?
Edited to add: I was looking at Bigger or Preparing, not Beyond. I used HOD LHTH and LHFHG. Then we've been doing our own thing and I'm feeling led to go back with my eight year olds/rising 3rd graders We've been doing US history (my stuff) for two years. My kids learn well with hands on but love re...

Re: Preparing Placement ?
They fall clearly in Bigger. I guess I should do Bigger. I just wasn't excited about more US history and they've asked so many questions lately about world history. But I'm sure we'd benefit from the Bigger guide more in all the other ways. Do the older books used in Bigger portray Native Americans ...

Preparing Placement ?
My boys are 8 years old. I am looking at going back to Heart of Dakota for history and bible. I have science, language arts, and math covered outside of HOD. I have been doing my own history but I'm burned out and would like some open and go. We've done over two years of US history. I think all of u...

? about Bigger's hands on aspects
Hi. I'm wondering how "hands on" I will find Bigger? My kids thrive on the hands on stuff--making things not the writing or drawing type as much. I found Little Hands and Little Hearts perfect for us from that aspect. We couldn't use Beyond for reasons not important here but I'm sure the hands on as...

?'s about Preparing
I'm wondering if Preparing schedules all the chapters of CHOW except those initial ones that seem to support evolution? How "hands on" is Preparing? My kids at this point seem to need something interesting activity wise to cement information. Right now we're doing something hands on every day. How m...

I'm looking ahead to next year in planning. Does Bigger cover WWI and WWII? What about the great depression?

Moving from Little Hearts to Beyond
I started Little Hearts when my kids were six in February of this past year. It was the right age to begin, especially for one. But I think they are probably more appropriate in Beyond now overall. I've begun to accelerate the second half of Little Hearts to move into Beyond in November give or take...

What are musts to start Beyond Little Hearts?
If money is really tight right now what do I need to begin Beyond? I will get all the books but I need to buy some time essentially. I've got the Early Reader's Bible so that should take a while with the emerging readers schedule I assume? I also have Squanto so my literature is set to start. But of...

Kid being silly advice
 I'm just wondering if this is a thing some six year old kids do or an issue or what. My boys get silly. Drama and the rhymes in motion in our HOD lessons (in the LHTH and now in LHFHG) always turn loud, knocking into each other, and just extremely silly and I get frustrated honestly. I get ir...

Narrating/comprehension issues
I've got two six year old boys doing LHFHG. I had hoped that kiddo with "issues" (ADD, he's got a mild autism dx. as well but the main issues we have are attention related) would come along with narrating/comprehension as we worked through the program. But we're half way through and I just don't fee...

Concerned..any thoughts?
I've got two newly six year olds and we started LHFHG this week after finishing LHTH. One of them isn't doing so great with the discussion questions/activities at the end of Reddy Fox. I'm a worrier by nature and I've always worried about him particularly. He's probably ADHD-Inattentive and likely t...

Re: Edible Playdough & Sunbutter
My son is tree nut anaphylactic and we have no nut or peanut products in this house. We do have Sunbutter though! Thank you so much; it had never occured to me to try using it for this type of thing.
