Tips for using eBooks with DITHOR

Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has used eBooks along with DITHOR and how they divvied up the books to match the number of days (5/10/15). In the past I've drawn stars in the corners of the pages to indicate where he should stop each day. However, this year I'd like to try doing a couple of the boo...

Re: OT: Child's computer - help with HOD?

I think Mel hit the nail on the head. I second everything she said with the added encouragement that there are many free online sources for educational activities. Some are better than others, and of course you need to check any content, but I've rarely encountered a problem in that area.

Re: The Sword In The Tree

Yeah. I am glad that HOD is so flexible in this regard. I guess it's the surprise of it all that got to me. I just didn't expect it. I think we're all a little more alert to different issues depending on our backgrounds and situation. I guess this is one that just jumped out and grabbed my attention...

The Sword In The Tree

I just finished reading The Sword In The Tree (I try to read all my son's books before he does). Is it just me or was anyone else bothered by the portrayal of Lady Marian as being rather weak, selfish, and helpless? It really bothered me that in the very first chapter she turned to her son for answe...

It's like Christmas! :D

I just had to share. When we got home this afternoon our HOD package was there waiting for us on the doorstep. After examining the return address I announced what it was and both my big boys let out squeals of excitement! My biggest boy even did a happy dance! Both insisted I immediately take it ins...

Wow. It's great that your son is focused on what GOD wants him to do with life, and he clearly has a very compassionate heart. Thanks for sharing! :D

Re: DITHOR book choices

Thank you so much for the guideline info and the advice. There are some which I have chosen as a "you're going to read this because I've decided and I'm the teacher" but I'm also trying to give balance in letting him choose a fair amount as well. I'm running into the same situation with the re...

DITHOR book choices

So I looked over the titles in the DITHOR level 2 book set ( http://www.heartofdakota.com/drawn-into-optional2.php ) and went over them with my son and there are some which he simply has no interest in reading. I don't feel strongly enough about the recommended titles to go to battle over them. I'd ...

Ahhh. Yes. That's probably it. Wrong Edition. No problem. Going to buy the HOD package anyway. Just using the preview for a sneak peek. :)
THANKS!

Re: Beyond & DITHOR - Do I need different book sets??

Ooooooooh! :D I didn't see a link in your post, but I used your comments as a guide and went back to the DITHOR main page and this time looked more closely at the top. And then of course, I spotted the optional books links. Guess I just passed over that part before. Thanks so much!! :D

Re: Question about Beyond & American Pioneers and Patriots

Hmm. Okay. Guess I'll have to wait till I get the book. Thanks! BTW- I was looking at a preview on christianbook.com. I like them and Amazon for their previews. I find reading the previews gives me a more specific idea of what my son is expected to do/understand and helps with making the decision of...
