Re: DON"T MISS "Baby Island"
My ds 8 also LOVED this book! It's definitely not just a girly girl book! My kids were hoping that there was a movie too.

Planning ahead
My dc are: ds 8, dd 6 (turning 7 in a month), and dd 4 The kids and I were discussing how we are going to "do school" next year? So, it got me thinking.... Currently the older two are doing Bigger together. Next year, my ds will move up to Preparing but I'm not sure what to do with dd. Should I cont...

Phonics beyond The Reading Lesson
Hello friends! My ds has struggled through phonics all along! Ugh! However, he has improved a great deal and now we just need to improve upon his phonics abilities. He recently took a reading assessment on-line at MindPlay.com and the results indicated what I already knew: he's below average in phon...

Re: Dictation for Spelling
I understand you're wanting someone to say, "It will be okay." I just started it last week so I'm not the one to say, "Yes, we've had success." However, I can say it has caused less stress in our homeschool and therefore one less hair pulled out! I'm very thankful to give it a try and know that God ...

All About Spelling users
I've been using this program and am really considering just doing dictation with my ds (3rd grade). The AAS has helped with his phonics and his reading but I don't necessarily see an advance in his writing/spelling?! Just wondering what your thoughts are!
Thanks in advance!

Math U See or Christian Light Math
What would you choose? We're definitely not going to use RightStart Math anymore but I'm so undecided on where to go from here! I think I like these two curriculum, any opinions?

Re: Crazy Question...Books for ME???
I started Beyond in the Spring and I found everything sooo interesting! When I saw The Mayflower and the Pilgrims' New World (Adapted for young people) by Nathaniel Philbrick at the library, I was extremely excited. It was so much fun to read it at night and then when we did our "school" readings, I...

Re: Pendleton Wool
I ordered the booklet about the wool making process and different types of wool. I also ordered the "Eight Steps in Woolen Manufacturing" which includes actual pieces of wool (pre-washed and carded), washed wool, carded wool, a little vial of lanolin, thread and actual woven cloth! It's a great visu...

Pendleton Wool
I had signed up to receive some free educational materials from this company a couple of months ago. We just finished BLHFHG Unit 7 day 1 and this was a great teaching tool illustrating wool making! Great for those kinesthetic learners! I just had to share for those of you who like to plan ahead! I'...
