Re: cleaning schedule

Now I need a cleaning plan. I'm looking for a few things. First of all,in case you haven't figured out , I'm a little organizationally challenged. Coming up with ideas for this kind of stuff from scratch is REALLY hard for me. (I grew up in a very chaotic home :single parent mom with mental health ...

Re: What do you do when you miss a couple of days in the week?

Jacquelyn, Like you, I really prefer to stay on track with the days. However, I have had to embrace flexibility of homeschooling. Typically, if we miss a day unplanned at the beginning of the week, I will try to spread out the lessons throughout the week. This also works for us if we know we will mi...

Re: Video suggestion for Beyond

Thank you so much for posting this! My ds is loving learning about the pilgrims in Beyond. He would really enjoy watching something to get a visual picture and I would enjoy his learning being reinforced.

Thanks again!

Re: Sensitive Mommy Alert

Thank you all for sharing! I do not feel so silly now. I definitely agree that it is good for my boys to see my cry about a sensitive issue. My oldest has been known to be quite sensitive during movies and books when people are in danger, so that probably made him more comfortable about that....

Re: Sensitive Mommy Alert

Oh, Stone Fox was a huge tearjerker!!! My dd was reading it aloud to me, and passed me the book saying, "Mom, can you read a bit? It's making me cry." So I took the book and tried, but I was already crying so it was useless. Dh happened to be home that day, and walked by. Dd said (through her tears...

Sensitive Mommy Alert

We just finished reading Stone Fox today and I cried the whole way through the last chapter. One of my boys was trying not to bust out laughing at me and another almost had tears in his eyes wondering if I was okay. Are there any other books in Beyond or DITHOR Level 2 that I may need to read ahead ...

Re: Help Choosing b/t BLHFHG & BHFHG ASAP

There is about a 5% chance that my husband will allow me to homeschool my 7 y.o. who is set to go into 2nd grade at public school. Every summer I decide which curriculum I would like to use just in case the Lord does a miracle in my husband's heart. Well, the 5% chance just turned into 100% (isn't ...
