geography guide users from Pennsylvania
Hello I am planning for high school next year. It will be my first year of homeschooling high school. I live in PA, which has some of the strictest homeschool laws. I was wondering if anyone on the forum has used the geography guide that lives in PA and how that has worked for them. I love HOD and h...

Re: prayers for my mom
Thanks ladies, Moms surgury went really well. It actually took longer for the doctors to prepare for it then the actual surgury. AMEN!!! Best of all her left kidney was clean of anything dangerous, which is what I was worried about due to the location of the tumor. I feel very blessed today :D Thank...

combining 7yrold with 9 and 10yrold in BHFHG
The original plan was to put 7yrold in BLHFHG because it is a perfect fit, but I also will be using BHFHG with a 9 and 10yrold, Resurrection to Reformation with 12yrold, and LHTH with 4yrold twins so, I was wondering if I should bump 7yrold up with 9 and 10 yrold even though he probably won't get as...

Ok, I am worrying about high school and the more I read about it the more confused I become. I live in Pennsylvanina and am planning to use the diploma program entitled "Susquehanna Valley Homeschool Diploma Program." Oldest child is starting seventh grade this year. This program has a list of cours...

Re: Help I feel like I am drowning!!!!!!!!
I use Horizons math by Alpha Omega with all of my school age kids. Most of the children complete this in a timely matter. Eight year old is very dependent and does not want to read or do anything without me there. I do not listen to my ten year old read anymore she does fine on her own. I have thoug...

Re: Help I feel like I am drowning!!!!!!!!
I really think that most of my time is spent with 7 and 8 year old completing math, phonics, reading, etc. so that I have very little time for the history and the science boxes. 10 yr old is GREAT at moving along independently. Sonlight is well ironed out it is my third year using the program with a...

Re: Help I feel like I am drowning!!!!!!!!
I want to thank you for your advice. I have been considering droping the phonics with dd but felt kind of guilty (silly, perfectionist). After talking it over with husband he said to increase the time she spends reading, since he enjoys it and ax the phonics. I thank you for taking the time to give ...

Help I feel like I am drowning!!!!!!!!
I feel as though all I get done is school. I know that this curriculum is written so that a mother can teach all of her children at once but I just can't get it all done. Teaching ages 10,8,6,5, and two year old twin boys making me feel like I am one step away from the looney bin and it is only the ...

Dictation Question?
Can someone explain how to use dictation in PHFHG for spelling? I have a nine year old who is really struggling with what we are using and if using the dictation method is going to simplify the process for her then I would like to try it. I just am unfamiliar with it and was wondering if anyone coul...
