Re: Notebooking Pages for Bigger
The pages will still work with an older guide of BIgger? I still have the 2007 guide I used with my other 3 children.

How to assign grades for work in high school
HEllo, My first-born will be high school next year. I have never assigned grades to anything. The only reason i feel i need to for high school is so that if we need it for scholarships or transcripts etc., we will have them. I would hate not to and then be up a creek when some place asks for grades ...

Math for Algebra, Geometry, Alg II, etc
I know Carrie has suggested MathHelp.com for some of the older guides. What about CTC Math? They seem comparable. I have actually used both. Is there any reasoning why Mathhelp.com would be better? Wondering if it was ever discussed here.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Preparing Independent History Reading
My daughter is going to use Preparing next year for 6th grade. We are adding the Extension pkg for older students and her level of grammar, math, reading, etc. Should she do the Independent History Reading as well? Many of the books I am sure are good, but they are at easy reading level and will it ...

Re: HOD for High School IS Enough!
Thank you soooooo much for sharing! I have wondered about that now that my son started 6th grade. He was even asking me the other day what he would do for high school. Now i feel confident that I can tell him he can do HOD all thru high school. Merry Christmas!

Re: Preparing with extension package for 6th grader
If I were to use Preparing for my future 6th grader (another year), should I use the Self-Study extension package AND the Self-study deluxe History package. It says the self-study deluxe is for 3rd and 4th graders. Looking at it , its seems like something she would enjoy. My 2nd born is so different...

Preparing with extension package for 6th grader
I know i am getting ahead of myself but... who has used Preparing with the extensions for 6th graders? Did you feel it was enough? Did you do the self study history that says it is for 3rd and 4th graders? My daughter will be going to private school next year for 5th grade. i hope to bring her home ...

Dictation passages
I am looking at the level 5 dictation passage in CTC. i was comparing it to the YEar 5 modern speller book on google free books and matching up passages. i noticed there are some in the first half that are from somewhere else? how does the dictation Carrie uses in the back guides match up to the mod...

Re: Level of Grammr for 6th grader
Thanks ladies. I think i am leaning towards the 5th level for his 6th grade next year. Lessons being shorter would be a plus for him. He is a kid that once he gets something, he gets it, and then becomes bored if given too much "busywork"... another reason we are happy he is able to return to homesc...

Re: Level of Grammr for 6th grader
We will be using CTC with the extension package for older students. IT sounds like many of you are suggesting level 5 for next year. Then do level 6 half in 7th grade and half in 8th grade. if we had been using rod and staff all along i probably wouldn't have this decision to make. It is hard to com...
