U.S. History 2 Science question
Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has done the science for this guide? If so, how are you listing it on the transcript? My son will have completed all his required sciences (he did Physical Science in 8th grade), but I want him to still have a science for his senior year. Since the HOD science h...

Re: SAT/ACT
My oldest just took the PSAT as a 10th grader in order to practice taking the test in a high pressure situation, when the score didn't really "matter". I'm so glad he did it and had the experience! He scored very well, which I honestly attribute to the amazing education he has gotten through HOD. He...

Dual Enrollment Vs. HOD all the way?
HI everyone, I hope this is okay to ask here. My oldest son has been using HOD since 2nd grade. He is getting ready to start 10th grade this year! There is a lot of pressure where I live and in my homeschooling circles to dual enroll either online or at the local college starting in 10th/11t...

Re: Veteran HODer Freaking Out!
I have a 15 yo son who has been doing HOD since the 2nd grade. My second son has been using HOD since K. I absolutely 100% agree with the previous posters! My boys almost always choose to read nonfiction over literature, but it has been so good for them to be challenged to read real books that they ...

Thanks for sharing this! We are in World Geography now and I am enjoying the literature study with my son, but glad to know that what is to come is so great! Not surprising though!

High School World Geog Sci Question?
Hi everyone, We just started the IPC Science and are in Unit 4 of the HOD guidebook. Is the student supposed to take the tests at all? If not, how do I determine his understanding and if he is learning...from how he does in the activity book after the reading? I didn't see any instructions in the gu...

Re: Spelling/Dict. and more questions for a struggling learn
Thank you mrsrandolph and nealewill! Great tips and things to think about and try. I am in the process of finding somewhere to have him evaluated so I can better understand any processing difficulties and issues. I just need some direction as to how to best teach him so he will retain and still enjo...

Spelling/Dict. and more questions for a struggling learner
Hi everyone! I am hoping for some insight here. My second son is 10 yo and getting ready to start the 5th grade. He has used HOD from the beginning, starting with Little Hearts. He is halfway through Preparing now. He is a great reader and oral narrator and does a pretty good job at staying on task ...

Re: ANOTHER Singapore 6A/6B question!
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, Daneale! I think I have just been panicking about what the right move is with math...haven't had to think about it at all for the past 5 years! I am leaning towards going with Singapore 6A and just seeing how it goes, if it takes extra teaching ...

ANOTHER Singapore 6A/6B question!
Hi everyone, It's me with math issues again! I am STILL confused about what to do for my son for his upcoming 7th grade math year. He has finished up 5B and has breezed through the last half of it. I would say he is an "average" math student...doesn't struggle too much, but isn't gifted in ma...
