Re: Level 4 Dictation typo?
I don't want to sound negative...I'm just confused. :?: I thought dictation was a method by which children learned not only to study and reproduce exactly what they studied, but also to imprint proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, ect. in their minds. In my understanding, it was to teach them to ...

Re: Just ordered RTR! and a question re. logic in future guides
I have been wondering about this as well. I have been planning on studying logic on Fridays since the guides are written for 4 days a week.

Re: Rod and Staff Schedule Question
Thank you for your help. I think going full speed so that we can finish Rod and Staff 4 and 5 by the time we finish RTR would be best. Then we can start Rod and Staff 6 as scheduled in the next guide.

Rod and Staff Schedule Question
I am switching my dd (5th grade- 10.5 years old) to HOD CTC next week. She was already doing Rod and Staff English 4 this year, but we are not very far into the book due to some other things getting into the way of us doing a lot of school the first semester. I am looking for advice on how to contin...

Re: A few sneak peeks at the new guide Rev. to Rev.
Everything looks great. I wish that I had waited on the Apologia book. I am using that this year. It is a great book. I was wondering when you might post a sneak peak on what writing you are planning.

Re: The NEXT guide
My older son will be doing RTR in 7th grade, the next guide in 8th grade, and the final 4-year history cycle guide in 9th grade. Should he do the geography one in 10th grade or will it not be written for kids that old? I am curious about this as well. I plan on using CTC with my 6th grader next yea...

Re: Certain edition of Child's History of the World for PHFHG?
I have a special edition hardback version of CHOW that has a copyright date of 1997 and page numbers do not match. Just letting you know that not all 1997 verisions match.

Re: Do your kids enjoy HOD?
Does my dd enjoy every moment of HOD? No, but she does enjoy most of it. In fact she got out her poetry notebook today and worked on it just because she wanted to work on it. She has asked to do several of the activities again. We have tried so many different curriculums. This one has been the best ...

Re: Does anyone here use HOD for a "gifted" child? 2nd thoughts
We started Bigger not that long ago. When I first was looking at Bigger I wasn't sure if it would be a good fit for my dd who is an advanced reader. It has been a good fit. We are moving a little faster in Singapore and Rod and Staff because I started her on a lower level so we wouldn't miss anythin...

Re: Need help choosing phonics?
How are Reading Made Easy and 100EL similar? I think I may need a different phonics program for my 6 year old. I was considering Reading Made Easy with the workbook since I really liked the workbook samples. I can't seem to look at the samples of Reading Made Easy website. I don't really like 100EL...

Re: Need help choosing phonics?
I have never liked the approach used by Reading Made Easy or 100EL (they are similar, I think)...but I also don't like learning to read with a bunch of sight words. :( How are Reading Made Easy and 100EL similar? I think I may need a different phonics program for my 6 year old. I was considering Re...

Happy Handwriting
My dd is using Cheerful Cursive. She loves it. I noticed that the same company makes a print handwriting book called Happy Handwriting. I was wondering if anyone has used this.
