I am a little confused. Is the Teacher's Manuel necessary or optional with Midieval History Based Writing Lessons? Are there directions in HOD to use this?

Re: We have sort of a math mess, too.......
I have used everything.... EVERYTHING What finally has worked for us is Christian Light Math. It is a wonderful program that has everything built right into, drill, review, workbook, independent as they get older, explains concepts easily, doesn't take all day and it is very inexpensive. It has help...

Question about Historical Readers
Hi Carrie, My daughter has loved CTC and we are excited to do RTR this upcoming school year. After looking at the samples I see you have some DITHOR type activities scheduled with the readers, the first being Forbidden Gates. That looks excellent, but I have a problem. We don't do the readers. My da...

Re: Science Supplies for RTR?
Thanks so much Carrie! I have actually had the Astronomy book for several years. Long before I heard of HOD, we used My Father's World (which also uses this book). They did not change any of the projects in the book and frankly, we never did ANY of the experiments. I appreciate your work you have do...

Science Supplies for RTR?
Next year we are using RTR and since it has the Astronomy book included, I was wondering if a Science supply kit should be purchased? I know Home Science Tools sells these, or are the experiments going to be different that what is in the book? Will there need to be any additional supplies needed out...

Re: $435 for complete set??
Alicia, Did you look to see what your library has available? If you really need to, you can always piece the program together with used books. Another option is to buy the books in stages; such as 1st trimester books, 2nd trimester books, 3rd trimester books. You would need to contact Carrie to find...

Re: CTC: Organizing
We are using CTC and that is exactly what I use for all of my children. I also make a weekly lesson plan sheet that includes all of their work (HOD and additional subjects) that have little check boxes. I store any worksheets and this lesson planner sheet on a clipboard which goes into one of the bo...

Which writing program should I use for my daughter?
Let me tell you about my daughter. She is a good girl, but has always struggled with school. She gets easily frustrated but this too has improved with age. She is my 2nd daughter. She didn't really learn to read till she was 9/10. She is 12 now. She has really come a long way, but she really has had...

Re: CTC - Art supply question...
I too had some trouble, but I finally found these... http://www.dickblick.com/products/blick-scholastic-short-handle-golden-taklon-flat-wash/ One idea Carrie could try is to set up a bundle feature with dickblick so that we can just add it all at once. I know that artistic pursuits does this. Michelle

Art
Do you all add art to HOD or do you consider the art included in HOD with the history projects, science projects and poetry study to be enough? I am thinking of adding Artistic Pursuits and having a Fine Arts Friday with the art projects displayed for the week along with artists samples of who we wi...
