Re: Roll Call - When are you all starting?
We started August 1st!! We are finishing up Bigger before moving on to Preparing Hearts!! We've had a GREAT start!! I told the kiddos they could decide what we would do for our first day. We have always had an end of the year celebration, but nothing on the first day other than pictures with their n...

Re: Coming Back To Homeschooling!!!
Thanks, ladies! True wisdom here. I will have to honestly say I have been tempted to rush through Bigger to get to Preparing and to do Preparing 5 days a week when we get there so that we can get back on a "normal" schedule. Thanks for reminding me to just take one day at a time and enjoy it!...

Re: Coming Back To Homeschooling!!!
Thanks, Lourdes.
What about extensions for my ds? Should I add them or just concentrate on "catching up" so we can move on to Preparing?

Re: Coming Back To Homeschooling!!!
Thanks, ladies!!! I would have to honestly say that they did NOT grow in ANY skill while in ps. I truly belive and my DH agrees with me, that they went backwards if anything. We feel that they didn't want my dd to excel above her classmates because she had always been homeschooled!! I won't give all...

Coming Back To Homeschooling!!!
I am so excited to be able to homeschool again this fall!! My dd (8) and ds (almost 10) were in ps January - May. We had homeschooled with HOD exclusively prior to that. We were halfway through Unit 17 in Bigger when they started ps. I was thinking I would just pick up where we left off. The only "p...

We have used LHFHG, BLHFHG, and half of BHFHG when dc were sent to public school. Praying that we will be able to pick HOD back up this fall!

Re: Husband Took Kids to Public School!!!!!!
Thank you all so much for your encouragement and prayers! There has been so much that has happened in the last few weeks that my head is spinning. No I am not a member of HSLDA. The other huge problem now is that my dc are begging to go to public school. Their father told them if I wouldn't take the...

Husband Took Kids to Public School!!!!!!
Please be much in prayer for my family ladies. I won't give many marital details, but my husband took our kids to public school Tuesday and Wednesday to let them visit! :( They are both now begging to attend public school. He had them tested in an effort to prove that I am doing a poor job of ...

Re: Question About Singapore Math Review Lessons
Thanks so much, Julie & Carrie, for your responses. My dc will be relieved to know that it is alright for mom to still help them a little when they come to those reviews! :) Thank you both for taking the time to reassure this mom that she's doing o.k. teaching her kiddos! Have a blessed day, Robbin

Re: Question About Singapore Math Review Lessons
Thank you, ladies, so much for your comments. I really felt like my dc should be able to do the review without my help, but sometimes I just need to be sure that I am not expecting too much of them. Especially when I get tears from them both. I just love that I can come here and ask questions...

Question About Singapore Math Review Lessons
Should I expect my dc to complete the "Review" lessons in 2a without any help from me? I gave them the assignment today and told them they should be able to complete it without any help. They both ended up in tears! Am I wrong? We went over the math together and once I began to explain things...
