End of the journey
Mike And Carrie, Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Your materials were a wonderful way to homeschool our children. We have reached the end of our homeschool journey. My oldest two are now in public school and my 3yo will be starting preschool & fine arts academy this fall. I will be retur...

Re: How do you combine Storytime??
Hi Erica, I never combined their storytimes, but I used to split the readings up. I might read some of the history over breakfast., read a storytime book over lunch and save the other storytime book for bedtime. Some times we just saved both storytime books for bedtime because we enjoyed reading then.

Re: what grade should I call the kids? (for AWANA & co-op)
I always went by what grade level work I thought they were doing until now. We recently enrolled our second child in public school . She was 10 in October. According to the Michigan guidelines she could have been 4th or 5th. I placed her in 4th even though I had considered her a 5th grader for homes...

Re: "Not to be missed" read alouds from Beyond?
We sometimes read 2 books in a genre. My children loved all the ones we read. I think Pagoo was their favorite.

Re: Struggling with a decision.
I have personally used Adventures and the HOD guides from Little Hands to Heaven through Preparing Hearts For His Glory. MFW Adventures is roughly on level with HOD Beyond Little Hearts for His Glory. Whether you finish Adventures or not, I would think you would want to look at Bigger Hearts as the ...

Re: What would YOU do?
As you move up in the guides you will find that the older ones have some Independent boxes that they do on their own and some Semi-Independent boxes where you go over it with them and they do the rest on their own. This frees up some of your time for working with the younger ones.

Re: Okay...here goes
the older guides are 4 day a week guides. Some people enjoy using the younger guides that way too.
Some days my 3yo is not into it so we don't do LHTH and other days she devours it, especially on the weekends.

Re: SM Questions
I went to a large university my freshman year and physics was a killer class anyway, the one they used to flunk out a bunch of students to get the class size down. Me too. :D I wanted to start at the community college but they didn't offer freshman physics. I don't know what my kids will face when ...

Re: SM Questions
Lee Ann, I understand what you are saying about feeling behind coming out of high school. I went to a high school that didn't offer calculus in high school and many, probably most, of my peers came from high schools that did offer it. So many of them started math a year ahead of me in college. I di...

Re: I'm stuck and confused as to what to do next
If it was my child, I would go ahead and do Bigger but understand if you do that, you may have to help him with the readings when you get to Preparing. Your goal would be to gradually increase his independence as he moves forward. But I wouldn't hold him back if he's ready for Bigger. I would work t...

Re: OT- Bedtime Routine HELP
well, our routine is that at 8 pm I nurse the 3 year old to sleep. The 10 and 12 yo's are supposed to be upstairs reading until lights off at 8:30 or 9, depending on whether or not we had evening activities. All electronics are kept in the kitchen at night or they will sneak them into bed. My big ki...
