Re: Help with little ones?!
Here's another idea and what I did with my oldest two (ds and dd). My dd followed along with my ds so I kept them together figuring I would just split them up at some point. Well, I never needed to! Bigger and Preparing are completely doable with two kids (and I had a bunch of little ones too!) BUT ...

Re: Dictation for a fifth grader?
In the next manual, Preparing Hearts for His Glory, there's more levels of dictation that you would do with your son. If you purchased it now, you could still qualify for the package discount next year

Re: Question about oral narration in MTMM
Checked it out but it is suppose to be an oral narration and according to the appendix the student is suppose to tell back as much as they can remember without looking at the book, including as many details as possible. So, I guess I should just be thankful that my kiddos can narrate well

Question about oral narration in MTMM
I have a question about the history oral narration in MTMM. Specifically, the one where the teacher is suppose to write or type the narration out. For the first one, I had them narrate while recording it and then we went back over it as I wrote it out. It wasn't too bad. But this week, they had to n...

Re: Scheduling Oral Narrations?
I have two in MTMM and 1 in CTC. When I meet with the one in CTC is when he does his oral narration. He has it read already and while I check his other work he looks over the material again and then narrates. For the older two, we have been going HOD from the beginning so they are used to doing narr...

Re: Placement questions! please help me!
Hi and welcome to HOD! For child #1 I would lean towards doing PHFHG for a couple of reason. First of all, HOD has a different approach to learning than the textbook schooling your daughter is used to. It encourages a child to interact more with the texts being read, articulate what's being learned ...

Re: English mix up
Thanks for the encouragement Julie! I think it helps that English 6 is only half paced too. I feel better knowing that it is "ok" to continue  I check the board periodically but don't jump on often because I do have a full schedule!! The newest little one is doing great and is much enjoyed by ...

English mix up
I started rev2rev with my older two children this year. We are on unit 15 and have been doing Rod and Staff English 6 half pace. A couple of days ago my friend informed me that I should be doing English 5. Somehow I completely missed English 5  I don't know how it happened but we did English ...

RTR science book not matching up
We are on unit 29 in RTR and have run into problems with the Science book Isaac Newton . I purchased the book from HOD, but from unit 29-unit 30 Day2 the page numbers don't match up. Not sure if my book is a different print but just wanted to let others know. My kiddos found the mistake but I insist...

Re: Am I the Only One Who Has.....
WOW! I would LOVE to let my kiddos do that but with a larger family I definitely need my manuals to last  I could see how my boys would thrive off of making the huge X's through the boxes though  My daughter would probably have hers all color coordinated and spend too much time on making ...
