Also, at that age, I made school pretty optional. The books were there when the kids were interested, but I didn't "make" them do anything when the interest wasn't there. Their primary job at that age is learning through play.

The pre-Explode the Code books are Get Ready, Get Set, and Go for the Code (three separate workbooks). I would use those with The Reading Lesson.

Do remember that the plans are for four day weeks, so you have that fifth day to "catch up" if needed.

I did the reading for the Living Library. I would say school days were in the 6-7 hour range. I'm okay with that for high school.

Reading the Foerster's Algebra post made me realize *that* celebration was even bigger in my daughter's mind. She was beyond thrilled when she finished the Advanced Algebra/Trig text. Definitely. Emphatically! LOL

We used both the Foerster's Algebra and the Advanced Algebra/Trig. We did both texts in their entirety, one year each. We allowed one hour per day (five days/week) for math. I did not have the benefit of the Math Without Borders DVD or schedule, but did get the teacher's edition of the text and used...

Last year I wanted to sell homeschool curriculum that we'd finished with. My oldest had a fit at the thought that I might sell my Little Hands guide. She said absolutely not b/c she'd want to use it with her kids.
