Thanks everyone! Tonight, Sammy said, "Mom, I can tell people are praying for me because I'm feeling better."

Ugh! I guess we won't be starting yet!
My oldest son had an accident at a playground last weekend. He fell off the merry-go-round (a spinning toy). He got a concussion and a fractured skull. We went back to the doctor yesterday and it isn't quite healing as well as they would like. She recommended no school for two weeks! She said we nee...

Re: LHFHG storytime question
The chapters are short. They are usually only 3-4 pages long. I think they are a great transition from storybooks to storytime without pictures.
Good luck! I'm sure you'll enjoy them!

Confused about Math with Bigger
If I use Bigger with Singapore 2b/3a, do I need to buy the textbook for 3a or just the workbook? Thanks!!!

Re: Placement Question
Thank you! I will be happy to share some more information! My oldest can copy several sentences up to a paragraph a day at a time. It isn't his favorite thing to do, but he is capable. He doesn't mind "copying" sentences so much, but the tears and frustration really start when he has to "produce" it...

Re: Placement Question
Ok, here is where I am right now. I think Ian (age 7) will be doing Beyond in the fall. I will have him do the Singapore placement test to see which math he needs to start with. We will continue his current phonics program because he likes it and it seems to be working well. I'm not entirely sure wh...

Re: Placement Question
I'm leaning towards not combining them. My younger son places firmly in Beyond. My older son who should be in 4th in the fall falls between Bigger and Preparing. Any thoughts?

Placement Question
I'm not quite sure what to do. I currently have a 1st grader who is struggling to learn to read, but I recently found a program that he really likes and he is doing really well with it. I also have a 3rd grader who is a fairly typical 3rd grader except that he cannot spell AT ALL! We are working on ...

Re: Starting LHFHG tomorrow!! (and a question)
It is helpful. Thanks! I think we have come up with a plan that will work for our family (for now anyway!). DS4 is doing LHFHG at half-speed until the fall. DS3 is repeating LHTH with a lot of extras thrown in and he loves it! He wants "Mommy" time and he wants to use the computer, so we have a few ...

Starting LHFHG tomorrow!! (and a question)
I'm so excited! DS4 (he'll be 5 next month) wants to get started now instead of waiting until the fall, so I'm gonna run with it! We are going to do half-speed until the fall and then pick it up. We did our first RME lesson today and he really enjoyed it. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with...

Re: BOX Day yesterday!!
Just as I suspected!! We started RME today. We are going to start half-speed LHFHG tomorrow!! DS4 is SO excited!! DS3 is sad because he wants to do Kindergarten, too! He has already done LHTH with his brother, so we are going to work on some other things and hopefully that will keep him happy.

Need help making a decision
Hi there! I need some help. Can someone tell me the basic difference between A Reason for Handwriting K and Italic A? Anyone that wants to recommend one book over the other? Also, the basic difference between The Reading Lesson and Reading Made Easy? Recommendations? Should I get the CD? Any informa...
