Bigger w/extensions for a dc in 5th grade
I was thinking of using this with my 2nd grade dd as well as my 5th grade ds, who would also use the extensions. Besides the extra reading in the extensions what could be added to the history part of it to make it more on the level of 5th grade. I was thinking of having my dc do written narrations t...

Re: Bigger Hearts-advanced 2nd grader & slower 5th grade
Probably the reason she is advanced is because she is an older 1st grader this year. Because of her Sept. b-day and because I kept all of my other children back one year, I decided to do the same with her not knowing that she would do so well. So she will be turning 8 in the beginning of 2nd grade. ...

Bigger Hearts-advanced 2nd grader & slower 5th grade
Do you think that using this with these two children together would work? My younger dd (2nd grade next year) is an avid reader and far above her grade level in reading. She does not yet know cursive but is a good printer. My ds (5th grader next year) is on the average to being a bit slower in the l...

RTR for eighth grade??
Due to finances we could not afford to purchase the entire set for our eighth grader next year, what do you think would be absolutely necessary for us to buy in order to complete the program? Thanks!

Re: Any more Science needed for older CTC student?
Thank you ladies for the responses and reassurances that using the Science as is would be fine. I wish my dd had such a strong desire to read as your dd, Cindyk, but unfortunately she would balk and feel overwhelmed at doing two science schedules at once. I actually have Apologia General Science and...

Any more Science needed for older CTC student?
If my daughter does CTC next year, which will be her 7th grade year, will she need something to supplement the science or could she just use the Science as written? I thought that I'd just use the books listed in the Girls read-aloud portion for her read-alouds and have her use the extension books a...

Anything I need to screen out???
I know that with Sonlight there can arise some questionable language or material that may not be age appropriate that I may need to screen out. Is the same true with HOD? I was told with Sonlight, that I would have to pre-read many of the books ahead of time for that reason. That is something that a...

Those having kids do Bigger more independently??
What is your plan for this? Thought of doing this with my ds of 10 (4th grade). Will you have your children write narrations on the Eggleston's readings and such???

2 questions??
CTC: Are the notebooking pages that come with the history package all you need for that? I know in Preparing you had to have your own notebooks with paper and plastic covers etc. What about Science notebooking? Are there pages in the history notebook for that? First thought that if we went with HOD ...

Re: Beyond, Preparing, and CTC is it possible?
Are you doing everything in all the programs? I was thinking I could combine their read-aloud time and just use the ones from Preparing. Is is really hard to get everything done by noon? What time do you start in the morning in order to complete at such an early time? Thanks!

Beyond, Preparing, and CTC is it possible?
Is it possible to have these three programs going at the same time? If so, how do you plan it all in?
