Re: Sneak Peek #7: New US2 History Guide
Will you be re-doing the literature for the WG to line up with this new model or leaving it alone? My daughter will be doing it next year and I'd love to know what to plan for. I completely feel where you are coming from in regards to all the various literature programs out there, they all leave me ...

Re: Singapore 6A/6B or Principles of Mathematics Book 1?
We also have used Principles of Mathematics I (after finishing Singapore 5a/5b) and now are onto Book 2. My daughter didn't skip the quizzes, but we did cut out of all the study and blank days from the schedule, did it 5 days a week and got done in less than 34 weeks. I feel my daughter needs a 5 da...

Re: Summer schooling?
We take a break from early May to right after July 4th. We live in the desert southwest and it is HOT here in July and August and the kids really don't have much to do because being outside during the day is not happening, so it is a good time to get school done. We usually get between 4-6 weeks don...

Re: Dug up some of my old books
My kids, ds & dd, both loved Hiedi, it really is a wonderful story, brought tears to my eyes in several places. Little Women would probably be most appreciated by girls and even then 5yo may be a little young. I have no insight on the rest.

Re: Combining with other curriculums
I was approached by a mom about joining her low-key "CC type" group and I have to tell you I was overwhelmed at the idea of adding all this extra stuff to what we already do. I would have dearly loved joining these moms, as I enjoy their company and we share many of the same goals for our children, ...

Thank-you for the replies, both to my e-mail and here on the message board. The samples of the notebooks look fantastic I know you can't be all things to all people, though one can always hope.

Ooops! I meant to say that I prefer to use my Pro-click NOT three-ring binders. I'll have to probably send a direct e-mail.

CTC Notebook question
I know that the notebook is advertised as coming three-holed punched, is it possible to get them unpunched? I prefer to bind our notebooks with my Pro-click and three-ring binders. Thanks!!

Re: How do you all Organize your HOD Materials
Ummm, I'm always changing how we organize things. For the last two years I have had a small table with one of those large spinning office organizers, it hold my guides (Preparing, LHTH, DITHOR), math books, R&S teachers book, planner, my pencils & pens, current read aloud, file folders for storing c...

Re: What is one scheduling tip that has helped your school d
I keep a loose schedule, mainly because my husband leaves for work at different times throughout the week, but the most important thing for staying on track is staying OFF the computer. Times seems to evaporate when I'm on the computer. :? Our days go so much more smoothly when the computer is off u...

Re: Guide Skips Pages in Do It Carefully, LHFHG?
Agreeing here with the the pp, the pages that not scheduled are handwriting pages. So essentially they're not necessary if you are doing another handwriting program, especially since the style is probably different than whatever you may already be using. HTH! I remember skipping those pages, I was t...

I know this is an old post. but I wanted to thank the lady who originally posted her question and all the answers given. :D Had I not seen this many months ago, I would have stepped in and done the heavy lifting for my daughter many times. :| Instead I have encouraged my daughter to think critically...
