My son is PDD-NOS (high functioning autism) and we are just about to start LHTH with him. i just ordered it today after praying about it for months. I am just trusting in God and not expecting perfection. I think it will work out..even if we have to tweak a thing or two along the way..or even slow d...

Re: what do you do the missing year?
thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions. i suppose there are a ton of ways you could fill in the missing year. i won't concern myself too much. I really like the little house on the prairie and wouldn't mind taking a year to do the Prairie Primer unit study one year... i just wonder why C...

what do you do the missing year?
Looking through the curriculum i see pk-3rd grade (5 yrs planned out--pk, k, 1, 2, 3) and the catalog shows there will be another 4 yr history cycle as well...(4 more years). There is a year of school MISSING? what do you do for 8th grade then? confused!

Re: Is it OK to be explaining all the time?
my oldest son had reading comprehension problems. When homeschooling i used to do the same thing as you and explain everything as i went along. then when he was in about 6th grade i found books about CM and found out about narrating. After that, instead of explaining everything..i started having him...

Help me compare HOD and MFW

I am really torn between HOD and MFW. i have looked through both catalogs and have read extensively on both message boards yet i still don't know which will be best for my kids. They both...
