Re: Looking Ahead Questions
I do really want them together for ease of my day!!! YIKES! I'm wondering out loud here...but maybe I could have the older do more "written" in the way of narration back on the history/story portion and have the younger dd continue doing it orally with me. Which seems it would seperate them a bit......

Re: More review in Singapore Math....
I second Math Mammoth...we use it as a review or extra help with great success....the price is TOTALLY reasonable as another post said and then you can reuse for other children or to review again (KWIM!)

Re: Should we do one or two programs?
We do Beyong with my 6 and 8 year old daughter and we all love it. I have an 18 month old son (and a 4 year old)...so we are usually hopping trying to stay ahead of what the baby is destroying in the house. They love doing it together. My oldest really enjoys science and history. So if we get to som...

Re: Math U See vs Singapore
I have not used Singapore, so I can't comment there. But we did use math u see for a year and a half....it is Mastery in style...meaning you drill and drill and drill one thing until you know it.... you spend forever on just addition...which probably works well for some kids...but it was over the to...

Singapore question
So we are almost total HOD converts  ...but I'm still a hold out on math...we use Horizons and I love it...that said...I'm being pulled to try Singapore sort of "on the side"....I am enticed by the mental math side of it...so here's my questions for those of you that use it...do I HAVE to have ...

Re: something's not clicking :-(
Jenni All these great ladies gave great advice...I just want to continue to encourage you...my dd8 has had many challenges, but one thing I have learned is that when she starts to get upset and overwhelmed and it is too much for her...that we must take a step back so we can leap forward. That's the ...

Re: Has anyone tried a different math & english schedule?
I haven't tried doing one and then the other....my daughter would fall on the floor in horrer if I told her she needed to do 2 math lessons!!! But we did go to doing math in the morning...along with other things, mind you....but then Grammar is done in the afternoon...LONG after math had been comple...

Re: how do i catch up?
I'm not sure I have an exact answer...but I can tell you about my daughters...my 3rd grade daughter is doing Beyond this year. So next year, her fourth grade here she will do Bigger also...and yes this means she won't get through every guide, unless we do something different as time goes on. But I w...

Re: Has anyone spiral bound their manual?
I think the 3 ring binder is a good idea. I have my LHTH manual sprial bound. But I didn't do the others. I started getting so many spiral bound books that I couldn't tell which was which in my pile....just my 2 cents.
