Today was *Box Day* for us!
I just had to thank you Carrie (Julie, Michael, and everyone else who contributed) for producing this *amazing* new World Geography program! If you could have seen our youngest daughter...the one who rarely shows her emotions...carry in 50 pounds of book boxes from the front porch, carefully cut the...

Re: Please talk to me about this
Hugs to you. I hear your pain and frustration. My thought was to really consider if the math, science, and grammar programs your dd is using are the very best *for her*. Maybe her learning style would make another type of program more enjoyable and successful. I've changed maths again and again to f...

Using CtoC for 7th and 8th grades
Hello. Long story short...I had purchased this program for my 2 daughters last year, and although I thought it was beautiful in every way, my younger dd10 was simply not yet up to the task (she has learning disabilities). I returned it for a refund but the post office lost it in shipment and it neve...

Re: Question about pace of grammar - R&S 4&5
My thinking is that since R&S grammar is advanced and, IMO, rigorous, it is better to go more slowly and allow the student to *know* the material and not just *cover* the material. Doing it several times a week instead of daily also allows time for the writing program to be done twice a week.

Re: Miller Pads and Paper
We just got some goodies from Miller P&P at a fair. I found a set of 18 watercolor paint tubes. I believe all the colors needed were represented, although not every one was the specific shade, but close enough. They did have beautiful Prang watercolor sets of the little semi-moist paint cakes, but m...

Re: question about independent work in CTC
Hello. I just purchased CtoC for my younger two daughters, and I plan to read the history stories aloud so that *I* can hear them, too. :) Then they can do the timeline work, etc. independently while I do a few little things around the house or work with my older daughter. I also plan to listen to t...

Re: getting life in order to homeschool
Perhaps some of the suggestions on the Flylady website would help you get into a simple routine. I also recommend her book Sink Reflections...it describes her philosophy and the need for simple, doable routines in our homes and in our lives. The website has all the tips for organizing, encouragement...

Re: Bigger Hearts Unit 8 Day 2 poetry question (Prayer poem)
Greetings Rebecca. I'll jump in here and sing praises for the poetry in Bigger! I remember week 8 vividly, since that was the week my husband lost his job unexpectedly. We were reading it through for the 3rd time that Wednesday when our family life was forever changed. Now of course the Lord changed...
