Re: Why would I pick HOD over another curriculum?
Thanks to all of you! Rebecca, My children are 9(boy),6 (girl), 2 (boy) and hoping to adopt a baby girl this year. We have used ACE and MFW(adventures) and different things for math and other subjects etc. Right now the children are finishing up their grades of ACE before Christmas as we started las...

Re: Phonics and emerging reader question
Okay, this all helps. The last question though is about phonics. She (almost 7 yrs old) already knows how to read at about a level 3 so it appears she will go onto DITHOR 2/3 instead of emerging reader? Do I use any phonics with her for the rules part of harder suffixes etc ? Or do you think I can s...

Why would I pick HOD over another curriculum?
Can you give me your opinion on why I would pick using Heart of dakota over something like ACE or another more independent curriculum that is easier on mom with more than 2 children? I genuinely want to know the benefits of HOD as I seewith 2 packages it seems a lot of mommy time will be involved tr...

Phonics and emerging reader question
My dd is almost done with 1st grade and learned to read when she was 4 using 100 EZ Lessons. We will be doing Beyond and I wanted to know how I know if she is an emerging reader or independent reader? Also, doesn't she need more phonics for the harder suffixes and prefixes etc? I was thinking of R&S...

Re: How hard to do 2 packages at once?
My goodness, if all of you can do it, it must not be that hard to work a schedule out. This makes me feel a lot better if I decide to go with 2 packages.

How hard to do 2 packages at once?
So how hard is it really to do 2 packages at once (Beyond and Prepare)? Am I going to go crazy going from one to the other all day? Will it seem like too many projects and everything going on at once? I will also have a 2 yr old hopping around and we might be adopting a baby this next year also. I j...

Re: Which packages for my children?
Forgot to add, Wendy, that my sons are both biological dc, but my 6 yr old was adopted from Guatemala and we are waiting to adopt domestically now as our daughter really wants a sister.

Re: Which packages for my children?
Thanks for the replies. When looking at placement it looked like my oldest could do Preparing and my youngest Beyond. I never thought about combining as I thought 3 years difference was too much. So you don't think Bigger would be too much for my youngest or that she would be deprived:) not being ab...

Which packages for my children?
Hello, I am new to the board. My name is Julie and I am married to Randy. We live in SC. I have 3 children(9, 6, and 1). I have been homeschooling them from the beginning. We have tried all sorts of curriculum and I have heard some good information about Heart of Dakota so I am looking to see which ...
