Re: For dc that barely misses cut off for K...
We are in the same boat. I started dd in August when she was still 4 with LHFHG. Here in Hawaii you have to be 5 by the time school starts (I believe) to enter kindergarten. She turned 5 in November. She loves it and is ahead in many of the subjects to the lesson plan. I agree with pp's, go with the...

Re: Need More Books for LHFHG...Ideas?
Great ideas! I think we'll go with the R&S art, Mindbenders (trying to decide which level), and have her start copying the scriptures.
Thanks ladies!

Need More Books for LHFHG...Ideas?
Hi, I am doing LHFHG with my just turned 5 year old. I've been letting her work ahead in the Thinking Skills book and the Italics workbook for LHFHG. So she does both every day and if she likes it a lot, she does more. I thought this way, if we go on vacation or something comes up, I wouldn't stress...

Re: Emerging Reader not happy....
Just wanted to say I completely relate. I have a just turned 5 year old who I taught to read using the 100 Easy Lessons book last summer. It comes with a 20 book list so we followed that instead of doing the phonics in LHFHG. Each week she would read aloud 2 books. It began well (Dr. Seuss), but the...

Re: What do your kids do when they are not homeschooling?
Thanks for all the great ideas. I will definitely be putting them to use! Judy - No Master's Academy here. It looks like a great program though. Shelley - I think we really need to find more homeschooling friends. I'm going to join the big homeschool group this weekend. Hopefully that will help. Flo...

Re: Let's share our schedules!
I'm glad this thread was bumped...I was looking for it! I am a very structured person so the free times in this irk me a little b/c the kids end up watching tv. I'm going to go through everyone's schedules to hopefully get some ideas. Maybe learning another language? Our schedule is: 6:30 wakeup 6:4...

Re: What do your kids do when they are not homeschooling?
What is Master's Academy? I wish there was a homeschool running club here. We live in a rural (to me) community and although there is a homeschool group, it seems to be geared toward older kids. I started my own little homeschool group with the few other moms that I know with young kids but we only ...

What do your kids do when they are not homeschooling?
We love the LHFHG curriculum. My daughter just turned 5 and we are in week 20. My son is 2.5 and sort of just weaves in and out of our homeschooling. We are done by 10 a.m. everyday. B/c her friends are in kindergarten I am at a loss as to what to do with them for the rest of the day. I have checked...

Re: Conference Schedule
Any idea when the Atlanta GA conference will be? We live in Hawaii and will be in GA in late April, early March. I would LOVE to come to a convention. Thanks!
Oops...I meant early May.

Re: Hi! Just started LHFHG yesterday (long w/ pics)!
Hi Candice, It's great to hear from someone else with a little one. How did your one year old do with starting? I've heard people say they keep special toys around for their younger children when they are homeschooling. I'm thinking of getting something, just not sure what. It's been fast paced enou...

Hi! Just started LHFHG yesterday (long w/ pics)!
Yesterday was our first day of homeschooling for Kindergarten. I have a four year old and a two year old. We are using LHFHG based on reviews I read at homeschoolreviews.com Everyone is just glowing there about it. I was very reluctant about homeschooling. Dh has been excited about it since dd's bir...
