Can someone help me understand the annotation of fiction in the high school guides? As an adult, I annotate nonfiction ALL THE TIME! (marriage books...books on parenting...etc) h
However, I NEVER annotate fiction. Can someone explain the rationale behind this?
Thanks in Advance!

Written Narration the CM Way
In watching some youtube narrations, I came to a question. In our house, some time passes between a reading a actually writing a narration. Often my kids refer back to their readings. I understand that Charlotte Mason stressed the importance of their being only a SINGLE reading. Does the written and...

Re: Boys to Men and FRUSTRATION
So let me ask you guys this. We start our day EARLY with family worship before Dad goes to work. Then my teenaged son goes back to bed for an hour and then has to be up for his part of school with me. He CHOOSES to stay up TOO LATE at night. "Bedtime" and when he actually goes to sleep are very diff...

Boys to Men and FRUSTRATION
Can we talk teenaged boys? What are or have been your experiences been with your 13/14/15 year old boys and their school work? I have my own experiences with my 14 year old son and have listened to podcasts that tell me what is happening in my home is the norm...total lack of enthusiasm for school.....

I am a certified reading specialist. YOUR CHILD IS YOUNG. I agree with Charlotte Mason's slower long term approach. Don't stress. Your child will read when ready.

Advise me wise ones! To prep or not to prep? If we prep, how many minutes a day? Do I help prep or have her prep independently?
Take both tests? Take them cold?

Ready for CTC?
Struggling with what to do about my son who will finish Preparing very very soon. He has the intelligence. We had neuro psych testing done on him, and his IQ is 120. HOWEVER he is ADHD and we haven't figured out what meds and doses are going to work. Another BIG thing is severe handwriting deficits....

WG A Lantern In Her Hand
My daughter confessed to me today that she got the book last night (after one lesson with it) and read the WHOLE THING! She said, "I'm sorry mom. It was just SO GOOD!!".

WG Fallacies
This mom is discouraged. My WG daughter does NOT GET FALLACIES! She is so smart. However, she is a LITERAL thinker. I have even gone over each type up to genetic fallacy (which is where she is). I have made her a little "cheat sheet" of what each type is to refer to. I am at the end of my rope. Has ...

Re: If You Keep a Book List for High School
I have heard many moms say they keep a book list during high school. Some colleges want to know what books were read.

If you are keeping a book list for High School, do you include books like "Not All Religions Lead to God" and the Archeology book?

Rice,
This is tongue in cheek, but I give you permission to do anything with the load you've got. I feel like a real whiner!
