This may not help - but my daughter (officially entering second grade) loves Flashmaster. Its is not fancy or video game -ish...but she loves it and it is small enough to take in diaper bag and whip out as a great boredom buster. It is not a curriculum, just a device to help practice math facts - wo...

Welcome, Kelly! I am new also - this is a super community for encouragement and ideas. Don't you love when the olders help with their younger siblings? I hope this year is great for you!

So cool to see so many wonderful families using Beyond next year. My dd7 turning 8 will use it. My ddK will use the left side with her sister. If it doesn't work to combine, we'll just have ddK use LHFHG - probably one side a day (with reading everyday!) Thanks for all the great ideas. We look forwa...

How is HOD pronounced?

Sorry all for this silly question. How is HOD and HODies pronounced? Do you say H - O - D? Or is phonetic? Or is it only a written acronym - and everyone still says aloud, "Heart of Dakota"?

Thanks!

Coconuts, Thank you! Our only connections to Hawaii is vacation/memories. I would LOVE to live there though – wow! Kauai is my most favorite of the islands. I cannot believe you grew up there. Did you hike in the interior – or is that only something strange main-landers do? It is nice to meet you. G...

Sorry to post again! My girls and I loved looking at your blog, Gina. We were so tickled by your Darth Vadar tents. We totally agree. Lucas should be getting royalties. They think you are the coolest mom to camp in a Star Wars tent. What a beautiful family. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, Gina! That is hot! What about June gloom and all that jazz? Hopefully you will be back to good ole' 75 degree summer weather in no time. (this is where I would put my emoticon if I could only figure out how to make them work) I grew up in Brea. We were about 20 minutes from Huntington Beach - a...

Thank you for your warm welcomes! My daughters are beautiful surfers (excepting the baby – although she does try to drown herself a couple times a day in her enthusiasm) I am NOT a beautiful surfer, but I enjoy it! I grew up in California, not too far from the beach. We are learning to appreciate ou...
