Re: State study

Julie, can I just tell you how much I love when you answer? You always make everything sound so fun! :D I'm sure Evelyn and I will have lots of fun with NH study when we get there. I wasn't homeschooled, but my grandmother spent a summer teaching me all about NH history when I was around 9 years old...

Re: State study

That's perfect! I'll get to it in a couple years with my eldest then. That will work beautifully! Glad that I won't have to figure it out by myself. :D

Re: State study

Yes, I meant specific to our own state. For us that would be New Hampshire. :D

State study

I'm curious how others have added in their own state study? By state regulations, I need to have my kiddos do this at some point before they graduate. What has worked best for you? How did you schedule it in without it becoming overwhelming to the day?

Re: What to do? Need help!

Thank you, ladies. You (and those on the fb pages) have given me much to think and pray about. I've talked with hubby (who always says that he leaves all these administrative decisions to me... ) and to the kids to get their inputs. I have come to the conclusion that if I tried to combine the...

What to do? Need help!

Once upon a time, I was a very happy little HOD user. I've used guides LHTH through Bigger (my 2 elder children are even in the pictures that Julie put together for the photo books for their convention booths! :D ). When my younger children started getting older, the idea of using 3 guides was so ov...

Res. to Ref. question

If I had my daughter who would be a 12 year old 7th grader in Res. to Ref. next year, do I need to do a different science than what is listed? It has Apologia's Astronomy scheduled, but the Young Explorer series is only to 6th grade? I'm certainly not opposed to her doing a book labeled for 6th grad...

Re: Using DITHR in a co-op setting...

Thank you, Daneale! That was quite helpful. Our co-op is quite a bit longer, around 30 weeks so I could probably fit in another genre or two. I enjoyed reading how you broke it up. :D

Re: Using DITHR in a co-op setting...

I was thinking of using this in a co-op setting as well, and would love to hear more from those who have done so!

Re: He's Here!

Congratulations Kathleen (and family!)! He is so precious! I was just thinking of you yesterday wondering if you'd had your sweet baby yet and said a little prayer for you! How funny to think you may have been in labor while I was praying for you!!! What a beautiful family you have....such a blessed...

Re: Hurricane Irene

We're suppossed to get it up here in NH too. Keeping an eye on it and hoping it downgrades to a trop. storm before hitting here. Right now it's estimated anywhere between a trop. storm and level 2 when it hits us. I know the Carolinas and Jersey are going to get hit harder. I'll be praying for all. ...
