Our Week So Far :)
We have had an awesome week so far! Yesterday the girls enjoyed playing the jumping game after reading about William Penn. Today we talked about how our body fights illness. The kids had a great time invading viruses with T-Cells and B-Cells, throwing Antibodies at them and eating them up with the K...

Re: BJU writing and grammar...thoughts??
We are using BJU English 2 this year and have just completed the 1st 6wks. I find BJU to be very thorough and dd loves it. I like how the chapters alternate between grammar and writing. We are using the BJU workbook along with the CLP TM (which is basically just an answer key). We do not have the BJ...

Re: Time line suggestions??
We are putting together the timeline as suggested in the teaching guide. We taped 2 file folders together and instead of dd drawing the pictures directly in the spaces I cut sticker paper to the size of the spaces. When she is done drawing on her sticker, she places it in the appropriate space as in...

We have been doing the Language Arts/Math side 1st part of the day and the Learning through History side 2nd part of the day. This order works out best for us. When we do the Learning Through History half we do follow the boxes in order, it just seems to make more sense to us in the way it all ties ...

We just completed our first week, and what a success! :D I definitely agree that at first glance HOD appears to be "deceptively simple". I am amazed at how thorough and well thought out the lessons are. Both kids had so much fun and we worked through all of the lessons each day without feeling rushe...

Oh, how wonderful! That is such an awesome idea! :D I think my biggest getaway these days is an occasuional moment when I can close my eyes and just dream of being on a deserted island (with my HOD catalog of course). When I open my eyes and come back to reality, I realize I would miss my kids...

Awesome first day with LHTH & Bigger! :)
We had such an awesome day! The words of my 7 yr old dd pretty much say it all. She came up to me about half way through the day and said: "I thought it was going to be like every other school day, but it's much more fun." Come to think of it, I felt the same way! My 3 year old had so much fun...
