Re: Can you name your FAVORITE???????

I would say my favorite so far is Little Pillows by Francis Ridley Havergal in the Bigger package plans. I know it might seem like a small peice out of all of the wonderful books, but I CANNOT read that book without the tears flowing!!! For a long time I carried it in my purse!! :) I completely agr...

Re: Questions about the science in CTC

Thank you both, ladies! watertowine, that's interesting. This particular ds used BJU Science last year, and while I loved it, it was just "school" for him. On the other hand, HOD science is a huge hit hit! I think he just loves the literature and nature aspects of it. You know it's a hit when they'r...

Questions about the science in CTC

We are currently using parts of Preparing and enjoying it immensely. My 10yo ds is especially fond of the science and is creating a beautiful notebook. :D My questions: Is the science in CTC a lot more challenging? Is there a substantial increase in the reading? And do you read the Apologia title in...

Please share how you use Rod & Staff English.

We will be using R & S English with two of our boys this coming year. I know that many here do some of the work orally, but could you share more specific guidelines with me? For example, do you do just the oral review and then assign a few written problems? Or do you do some of the intended written ...

Preparing Science

Would someone mind sharing the first semester books for Preparing in science? I purchased the TM today from HOD (yaaay!), but due to budget I need to break up the book purchases.

Blessings! :D

Re: Schedule or routine, which do you prefer and why?

Oh goodness, a routine for certain! I read the MOTS book and while we only have three dc at home (oldest is on his own), just looking at the timed schedules stressed me out. Have you seen discussions on the WTM boards about loop scheduling? I'm not sure how it would work with HOD, but maybe that's o...

Re: I've made expensive mistakes this year regarding curriculum

Hi Tina, Commiserating here because I'm in the same boat. This is our 12th year and I just panicked at the beginning when we were going to do both Bigger and CTC. Initially, I had such a peace about HOD after much thought and prayer, only to let me flesh take over in an instant. I think there...
