Re: Singapore 2A Question
Tamara, I'd love to hear more about how you draw the pictures for your children in math. Can you give a page number or two so I can see what you mean? Sounds like an interesting plan but I need more detail. Thanks!

Re: Considering Singapore. . . . .lots of questions!
For some reason I thought Teaching Textbooks was going to be a recommended upper level math curriculum. Is that not correct?

Re: Questions about half-Speed for Preparing
I also want to check opinion about some of the writing in Bigger. I only have required 1 vocabulary word, as it says 1-3. But should I be working up to 3? Also the copywork on the poem says optional? Should I be requiring him to do it as we progress through the guide? I have not been. Also with the ...

Re: Questions about half-Speed for Preparing
I just wanted to say Thank You to both of you for this conversation. TrueGRIT, it could have been me writing about my son in Bigger. I think your ds is doing even better than my 9 (10 in June) year old. He struggles so much with reading and writing. We have been half speed for what will be two years...

Bigger unit 8.2, Science Exploration, Solar System
Please help me understand. In measuring the planets and the Sun to scale, how can the Sun be 140 mm., Jupiter be 143 mm., and even Saturn 125 mm? The Sun is far bigger than the planets. Is there a correction for this? I can't have my son make Jupiter bigger than the sun. We are trying to draw them. ...

If possible that would save me having to figure out how to build it. I'm not too computer savvy anymore.
Thanks, Julie

Re: emerging readers ?
I'm wondering what your dd didn't like about the Early Readers Bible? I'm looking at it for my ds. The only reason is because it would be easier, we have the Beginners Bible and he is not ready for that yet.
Thanks for your input.

Re: Bigger? Miller pads and Papers.
I have seen on their website a composition book with guided lines on the bottom and blank on top for drawing. I don't know for sure what they call it. These work great for nature journaling (not necessarily part of HOD written plans) but especially for the copywork. I haven't actually started Bigger...

Re: Any helpful hints for Beyond??
For the poem, I just used a mead composition book that has blank space on the top of the page and guided lines at the bottom (Wal-Mart). I didn't make copies, I just wrote the title and author on the lines and he could either trace (earlier in bigger) or copy the words below (later on). This was ple...
