Singapore Math "extras"(CWP, IP, EP)
Does anyone use any Singapore Math "extras" with the text and workbooks? I'm talking about the Challenging Word Problems, the Intensive Practice or the Extra Practice workbooks. They aren't part of HOD's packages, and I am also wondering what the reasoning is behind that. Just curious, TIA !

Re: Who stretches programs out over more than 1 year?
DD was supposed to be born in September but she came in July instead. It's so silly really and shouldn't matter, but it's hard to get away from the "public school" mentality, when in the back of my mind I always know there's a chance she'll go to ps someday. I think you're probably right that R&S an...

Who stretches programs out over more than 1 year?
DD and I are currently doing LHFHG and thrilled with it. My only "issue" has been that 170 days is too many for me to want to do in a year. I don't want to do more than 4 days a week, so I decided to do 4 days for 42 weeks. I quickly realized I needed more weeks off than this. Then I thought I would...

Re: What to say?
He got so exasperated with our resolve to keep doing it that he finally blurted out "Well, how are they ever gonna learn how to ride a bus???" Ruth HEE HEE HEE HEE!!! I love this one! We get this from people, and I live down the street from our elementary and middle school. My daughter would NOT be...

I felt I had to jump in here :) We're happily doing LHFHG, and I lurk alot but don't usually have much to add!!! My mom works for the local PS, (my grandmother volunteers 3 days a week) and my father was the former chair of a local community college department as well as a professor. So...you maybe ...

Question about Singapore and about grade level goals
I'm really pleased with LHFHG, and I just had a couple of questions for "informational only" purposes. I keep reading that with Singapore math "you need to add drill". Is this true? Does HOD add the necessary "drill" (I know they add activities with the math for the earlier programs, but what about ...

Sounds like good advice. I had thoughts of adding things, but this just seems so thorough. I feel in my heart that this is enough, but thanks for agreeing! We're using Queen's LLFLO vl 2 right now, but on the advice of some of the ladies here we're going to try a more thorough phonics after we compl...

Cautiously optimistic!
I just got LHFHG in the mail, and I'm pleased with it(SHHHHHH, don't tell anyone, I don't want to jinx it!). I had a couple of lovely conversations over at HSR with W2W and some others (RE my first botched attempt at K curriculum! Nearly had me sending DD to PS, LOL!). Thanks for your input ladies, ...

I know this is going to sound DENSE but I didn't "get" Alphaphonics at first! I think Queen helped me figure out what I was doing, but lately(although I do like it, and it is a very sweet book) it doesn't seem like "enough". I am a little concerned about doing phonics "right". I learned to read so f...

Queen LL for phonics? And a couple of other questions...
Hi Everyone, I am thinking about using LHFHG next year for K. I've been lurking around lately, reading lots of helpful posts...but I still have a couple of questions I was hoping someone could answer  . DD and I already started using Queen's LLFLO vl 2 for phonics. I read the thread about R&S b...
