Re: HOD for Prek/K and MFW for older children?
thanks ladies. We do love MFW for the history cycle. HOD for the history cycle isn't an option for us because we are ahead of the HOD guides in our cycle :| I did like MFWK when I used it for my youngest ds but I am not that crazy about MFW1st so I really doubt I will use it with my dd. Even though ...

Schedule...ABC Verses book?
I have an older guide that does not include scheduling/pages for the ABC Verses book. Is there one on the boards somewhere?
Thanks

Using FIAR, LOTW with LHTH??
Anyone on here using FIAR, LOTW or anything else with LHTH? My 4yo dd is eager to do more....we are done with LHTH so quickly each day and she is disappointed when we are done. Just trying to figure out what to do with her in addition to LHTH.

How many are doing Preparing with 5th grader?
The way I understand it....we won't be able to finish the "history cycle" with HOD before high school.....how are you handling this? Does it bother you?

Hero Tales in Preparing???
Can anyone tell me how Hero Tales is used in Preparing? We just finished up using this same book, same volume this past year. Even though we didn't read the WHOLE book we did read a lot of it. Don't really want to repeat it in the same manner again this year. Could another volume be substituted? Tha...

If you have PREPARING manual IN HAND can someone...
give me a rundown on the "activities" listed in the book? Not necessarily EVERYTHING but a list of the variety of stuff. My 10yo ds LOVES hands on stuff in history.... making, cooking etc......and I want to make sure there is an adequate amt in Preparing. Also, how often are you doing the 'hands on"...

How many are using Preparing this upcoming year?
Just wondering because I am considering using it. Also, anyone know what day they will ship? I have another question.....are there suggested books listed in the manual to be used other than what you order from HOD? Such as library book titles that would be used as "book basket" time? Thanks Debbie

My question is specifically about HOD PREPARING....NOT MFW..
I understand this board is for HOD users...I understand and respect that. I am NOT looking for a comparison of the 2 curriculums. I am simply inquiring about "hands on" acitivites within the Preparing volume. What types, how often? Now I understand that probably no one but Carrie can answer my quest...

Anyone using MFW ECC now and going to use Preparing?
We are finishing up MFWECC and I was considering HOD Preparing but am concerned about overlap on the geography part.
Curious if anyone else is in the same boat as me?

Preparing question....
Right now I am undecided....I am either going to use HOD Preparing OR MFWCtG... I know there is a lot of "activity" in the MFWCTG...hands on projects etc...but not sure how much is in the HOD Preparing. My ds LOVES the hands on activities that MFW offers so that will weigh heavily in my decision. So...

Honestly....
I have Reading Made Easy and to me it always seemed like a lot of work....that is mostly why we dropped it. I have an older copy I bought several years ago so unless it's changed (which I doubt) I would try and get a hold of a copy and compare it to others before I bought it.
