I'm not sure mine is an emergent reader, but she just learned to read this school year and is enjoying the Little House books, Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (which I think was a bit of a challenge for her, but she did okay), and The Melendy Quartet (I get asked a lot of "what does ___ mean?" but she's ...

I also have to admit, I struggle with feeling HOD is not enough... that I should be doing more. Every other curriculum I've used in the past decade has contained more... and some have been downright overwhelming (like Tapestry of Grace)... so I've gotten into the mindset that if it's not overwhelmin...

It's a nice opportunity to "spread the word" :) The...

Tansy, we've used Rosetta Stone for Dutch, Spanish and Japanese with success, but I just checked out Fluenz, and I'm really impressed! It looks like a very thorough work-out.

I've been using it for my first grader (who is more on a K level) and for my pre-K'er (who is more on a K level) and it seems rather light? I have no idea what public schools are doing, though.

Polly, we must have been using AWOA at the same time! I can't wait to use it again when my Littles are old enough. Susie, I have a Hannah Grace too! People comment on Hannah also meaning Grace, but God was soooo gracious in the circumstances surrounding our Hannah's birth, His grace was so truly abu...

I used Learning Adventures with my older two (now in 11th & 12th grade) for 5-7th grade. I love it very much and my girls say their best memories of their homeschooling years were the years we used L.A. That said, the two curriculum (HOD and LA) are geared toward completely different age groups, so ...
