Re: Struggling with multiple guides.
Thank you 😊 I decided to put heart of Dakota away for a while and do some group studies together for several weeks. I experience the same pros and cons that you described. I keep forgetting it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. I enjoy the richness of heart of Dakota but it is a little isolating (th...

Struggling with multiple guides.
Hello, I’m doing res to ref with 2, CTC with 1 and bigger with 1. The youngest is just 3 r’s. Lately it’s been feeling like we are checking boxes again and I’m the drill sergeant trying to keep them on task. Is this normal? They like to talk, goof off, get distracted all day long. How do you manage ...

Re: Singapore 6B or Principles of Mathematics Book 1
I have heard that 6b in Singapore was mainly just review. I think you’d be fine, knowing what Singapore 6a covers. POM1 I think is gentle and likely easier than what she is doing now.

Where is everyone at in their guide(s)?
We are couple weeks into CTC, res to ref, and midway through beyond. Going well so far. My dd7 is above beyond’s activities but not ready for bigger so we are staying the course and adding some drawing/copywork from Christian liberty nature reader & a little unit on pets. Also looking at maybe addin...

iOS app for safe research
Has anyone heard of or tried the app Kiddofy? It is only available on IOS so far but it’s a platform where you can send videos and websites to your child. I think it might be super helpful for those research boxes in CTC/ Res to Ref, as well as their personal interests.

Re: Questions about using revival to revolution(MTMM-10th) for 9th grade
I’m in a similar boat for various reasons. My oldest is doing res to ref in 8th, I’m not concerned at all. My plan is to focus on math and writing and then cover what we need to through various means (in addition to the guide). There is so much available. You don’t need to add ‘subjects’. Find alter...

Re: Rev2Rev (or MtMM) for 9th Grade boy - questions
I have two years left with my daughter and I want to cherish each and every moment we have left. I am so thankful to HOD for helping me do just that. :) I can totally see where you are coming from. Having a larger family though makes it hard to cherish the time. It becomes a lot about checking the ...

Re: When you don’t feel like doing any curriculum.
I think homeschool curriculum burn out can happen to any of us. Perhaps take a year to just focus on what is most important to you and your husband, or like you said slow down the guides to give you more of the time that you are wanting with your family. This is true. I don’t have to commit to slow...

Re: Rev2Rev (or MtMM) for 9th Grade boy - questions
My oldest will be doing res to ref in 8th and likely part of 9th. I don’t plan on mixing and matching from the guides. I used to be of a classical mindset.. rigor rigor rigor. my how things can change 😂. When it comes to highschool transcripts I don’t understand the stress over it. As someone who gr...

Re: When you don’t feel like doing any curriculum.
I actually have children who will be in middle school (6th and 8th) in addition to younger ones. I have peace about relaxing a bit and following our interests, and doing more as a family. I do plan to still do math daily, even some through the summer. They read a lot on their own so I’m not worried ...

Re: When you don’t feel like doing any curriculum.
We are taking a summer break. We have been done with heart of dakota for over a month. I think we will just scale back to 3 days a week (maybe a little less if needed) and just plan to not finish a guide per a year. It ends up feeling too boxed in. The other days we can do other types of learning. B...

When you don’t feel like doing any curriculum.
Hey all, I am a little burnt out on homeschool curriculum. I have heart of Dakota res to ref to use next year and I’m just not feeling it. Can anyone relate? At the same time, I haven’t found a more suitable history program that I like better.

Found the list on FB group. The Dithor reading list that you purchase, does that include a lot of wholesome books that are not in HOD?

If we continue to use the older guides, will the notebook pages still work with the old guides?
