I think it will be out in the start of August, I am no expert, but I know if you are anywhere close to as anxious as I am, you are sitting online waiting for an answer. :) Maybe someone else can answer more definitively!

Oh, that is sad! No, it wasn't insured, the sender didn't use tracking, didn't keep her receipt, etc. She has been great though, and I still have hopes it may turn up. Thanks for commiserating with me!

Ah, posts by my two favorite mamas! Leslie is the one who introduced me to HOD when I responded to a FS ad she had up, and Tabitha happened to inquire about some math materials that I had for sale, when I gave her an earful about HOD! A little reunion here!!! Hugs to you both!!!

My DITHR got lost in the mail!

Cry with me, ladies! We began BIGGER a few weeks ago and were waiting on DITHR to arrive, I bought it used (Manual and 2/3 and 4/5 books). I paid for it Apr 18, and it has been lost in the mail! The USPS opened it to inspect as it was media mail, and they had the package but have misplaced the conte...

I would suggest Beyond. I am doing Bigger with my son, who is advanced. I really wanted to do Preparing, but it wasn't out yet and I was chomping at the bit to start! Bigger is plenty challenging, with lots of writing. I think Preparing would have been way too much for my son who writes very well an...

Hello Debbie! Welcome! I have not been terribly active on the board, as I am seriously trying to limit my online time lately. But I wanted to comment on your post, since I have used MFW and Sonlight, and looked at or tried or reviewed dozens of curricula options. This turned out to be a lot longer t...

About drill, I don't use Singapore, I use Saxon but I use it lazily--- ie, I just have my children do the worksheets, I don't "teach" using the teacher book. I know I SHOULD, but I don't. Anyway, for drill, my DS did NOT like flashcards, he felt too much pressure and I didn't help----so I wanted to ...

I have a huge list of books we plan to read, we read a LOT and love it...how about summer reading programs at the library? VBS? Craft days? Short excursions? Nature walks (in the cool of the evening maybe, or AM?) Books on tape, Lauri puzzles, board games together, music sing-alongs? More reading? C...

Oh, I can't wait to hear which spines you are going to use! And glad the SOTW books aren't likely to be used, I am in agreement that there are other more God-honoring books. Another challenge for us is that we are Orthodox Christian, and a lot of books are from a heavily Protestant perspective, part...

I just ordered this book, The Successful Homeschool Family Handbook, and would be happy to pass it on to any other mamas here after I am done with it. I think it would benefit me to read it now, and encourage me to take the summer off and let the kids be kids....still having responsibilities and wor...

I absolutely agree. So easy to understand....there are so many options, but it is all laid out just perfectly and makes complete sense. GREAT JOB!!! I love it! I love everything about HOD, and I have to say, I am VERY picky and have been through so many different curricula. I actually took the plung...

OOPS...nevermind, it is Little Pillows. I found that online, you can print it out for free! Morning Bells, too! Ignore my note under here asking which devotional... What is the devotional that is spoken of here? I just started using Bigger, completed the first week (and love it!!), and I can't recal...

Cheerful Cursive vs Reason for Handwriting

I haven't seen Cheerful Cursive, but was about to order RFH A for my 6 yo and C for my 8yo (cursive for the 8yo). I wondered if anyone had comments on CC and why it is better....I like the Biblical verses in RFH. My son can write in cursive, but needs practice. Any comments? Why is CC better?

How about for the 3rd grade set? I bought the student text, not here yet, but now I found a set with the TM. Should I buy it just for the TM and sell the extra student book, or make do with the student book? I am pretty good with grammar, well at least I was back when I was in school....
